The project
Alderley Park is the UK’s largest single-site life science campus. A comprehensive renovation and conversion project of the logistic centre involved multiple service provisions. Further work involved extending laboratories and updating support facilities.
Our contribution
Silcock Leedham delivered a comprehensive mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) consultancy service from concept design at RIBA Stage 2. Later, we worked on the detailed design process for RIBA Stage 4. We produced a detailed Revit model for 3D coordination, enabling a comprehensive tender package that encompassed drawings, specifications and schedules for plant and equipment to be produced. We were retained to offer comprehensive technical support throughout the specialist design stage and the subsequent on-site activities in RIBA Stages 6 and 7 to support handover and efficient use of the facility.
Added value
Our extensive experience in the life sciences and laboratory sector enabled the production of effective solutions and the remedy of technical challenges relating to service coordination. We also helped to implement heat recovery from the process extract system and validate its performance.
